| The Australian Business Skills migration scheme aims to attract business people with a proven track record of business skills and expertise. |

Requirements :
To qualify for a Business Skills visa:
a. you will have to demonstrate that you have had a successful business career.
b. you have a genuine and realistic commitment to the management of a new or existing business/investment that will benefit Australia .
c. you have not been involved in unacceptable business or investment activities.
Business migration applicants must also meet other requirements like, language, age and assets assessment.
From March 2003, business skilled visas have changed to a two stage process, provisional and permanent resident, although one-step permanent residence still available for high calibre business migrants. |

Direct Permanent Residence-Business Talent |

To be eligible to apply for this visa you must:
a. be under 55 years old
b. assets in business is no less than A$400,000
c. has at least 10% in a business with annual turnover of A$3,000,000 or more.
d. total assets no less than A$1,500,000
f. sponsored by an Australian state/territory government

Two-Step Business Migration Visas (Provisional) |

These visas caters to business owners, senior executives and investors. The first stage is a 4 years temporary visa. Applicants can apply for the second stage visa application after establishment business for 2 years or investment in Australia for 4 years. Other general requgirements for application of the stage 1 visas may include:
a. Vocational English
b. Less than 45 years old
c. Total assets A$500,000
d. Investor's total assets of no less than A$2,250,000, including designated investments of A$1,500,000. |

Government Sponsored Two-step Business Visas |

The government encourage business people to apply under these visa classess. Applications under the state/territory sponsored have much less requirement. Common requirements for these visas may include:
a. no more than 55 years old
b. total assets of A$250,000
c. sponsored by a state or territory government
d. Investors must have A$1,125,000 total assets including A$750,000 in a state government designated security.

Once business people come and start their own business or investment in Australia, they are eligible for apply for these permanent resident visas once they meet relevant requirements including:
a. Business owner will need to run business for 2 years, stay at least 1 year in Australia, have assets of no less than A$250,000, and employ 1-2 people.
b. For investors the requirements include keeping the investment for 4 years and liveing in Australia for 2 years. |
