Migrating to Australia: Why I Think Western Australia is Best?

Migrating to Australia: Why I Think Western Australia is Best?

I’m often asked why I chose to live in Western Australia and not the more popular and ‘attractive’ eastern states. Having a Skilled Independent visa, I could live and work anywhere in Australia, but the following reasons justify why going where everyone else goes is not always the best choice.

For one, living in one of the world’s more isolated cities make it easier for the local government to shut the state down during a global pandemic, just like the one we are presently experiencing. To give the government credit, this strategy actually worked and we’ve experienced several days now with ZERO new coronavirus cases.

I simply like the size of our homes, so even in the worst case scenario like extended home quarantine, there’s just so many more things you can do at home you won’t have time to feel bored.

Being the biggest state with only a couple of million residents, there’s more than enough space for everyone so social distancing isn’t really a problem. We’re so big that you could choose the type of weather you’d like; growing durian trees in the north, peaches and pears in the south of the state.

WA’s pretty capital Perth has often been rated among the world’s top 10 cities to live in. We’re multicultural, multi-religious, clean and rich in every God given resource, so much so that I think we should really be a separate country of our own.

Bustling, noisy and fast paced cities in Asia are within the same time zone and flying to these is just 4–7 hours away. Whilst some people complain that its quiet and slow placed here well, I think that this is precisely the reason Western Australia is the BEST!

You Have Been Warned; But We Know No One’s Prepared

You Have Been Warned; But We Know No One’s Prepared

Since 2003, we have been working closely with the Australia Immigration authorities to help families move across to Australia.

Since then, we have been telling people a lot of things. The image above are just a few of the past newspaper advertisement copies we used (from 2006 to present) to inform people not only of opportunities, but information that are beneficial in helping them decide to migrate to Australia from Singapore or elsewhere.

Alongside all our shout outs, we have anticipated that Australia Immigration process will get tougher as years pass by. It will never be as easy as it was 3-5 years ago. While we understand that no one’s ever prepared for any circumstances such as this COVID-19 situation, but for us it is always being pro-active rather than reactive.

NTRUST always encourages people to apply for what you only qualify for if you qualify.

Australia Immigration and It’s Response to the Developing Covid-19 Situations

Australia Immigration and It’s Response to the Developing Covid-19 Situations

On the 12th of March 2020, the Australian Government announced that travel restrictions will continue to apply to travelers arriving from any part of mainland China, Iran, Republic of Korea and Italy.

Just in, Australia’s Immigration Minister Peter Dutton was tested positive for the COVID19.

The CoViD-19 situation which had been declared a pandemic by the WHO continues to affect everyone, whether traveling or intending to apply for a visa to Australia.

At NTRUST, we’ve not seen the Australia visa application process change as a direct result of the developing COVID19 situation. For those of you who are contemplating an Australian PR application and understanding the basic tenets of demand and supply will quickly come to realize that now is the best time to embark on your plans.

If immigration to Australia is your medium to long term plan, take time to consult with an experienced immigration professional.

Insight: Life in Regional Australia

Insight: Life in Regional Australia

An old local living in the outback once told me that ‘’…money is only a part of life, you’ll live nicely with lots of money but here, life’s not that bad even if you have only a little… “he followed up quickly saying, “work too is only a part of life here…if you have to work, that’s part of life but if you don’t have to work, you’ll definitely have more life!”…Although he said these with a wink, I believe there is some truth.

If you’re living in Asia and contemplating moving to Australia, the ideal choice of location is typically Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane…Why? Many will say it’s because of increased work opportunities. However, as surely as there are more jobs in these big cities, you might want to consider, that along with more jobs comes more competition; and this not only for jobs but also schools, property, space and generally, the stress of living in a more crowded place.

Did you know that places such as Newcastle, Adelaide, Canberra, Hobart, Darwin, and Perth are now classified as regional areas for migration purposes?

When clients wanting immigration advice tell us they will only contemplate immigration if they can work in a similar capacity/big companies (unless there is a pending transfer from the present employer), our recommendation is to reconsider emigrating to Australia. You see, unlike other cultures, work is only a part of life Down Under.

Residents in Australia can appreciate that real life often exists AFTER work! What, …have you not considered there are different lifestyle choices, hobbies, kids, household chores, friends and family? So if you’re like many in Asia who put so much of your life and value into your work, what if you cannot find work or can only work in a different capacity or seniority? Won’t you find lifeless worthwhile then if you moved to Australia’s regions?

Having assisted thousands to move to Australia over the past 17 years, we have witnessed that happy, successful migrants are primarily motivated by a change of lifestyle. One where work-life balance is not ‘taboo’ and where work and school environments are less stressful. Where the pace of life slows, our clients have found more time for the things that really matter.

The debate about migrating to Australia’s regional areas is severely prejudice by negative generalisations. The most common misconception being that ‘there are no jobs in regional Australia’. Indeed, there may not be the head office of that bank or MNC offering you the position you’re used to, but surely there cannot be ZERO job openings?

In Australia, a job is a job. If you’re a migrant that needs money and work, be prepared to work anywhere and in any capacity. Most people work for a living and the concept of minimum wages (presently over $19/hr) is to safeguard the interest of everyone making a decent living. While earnings in some regional areas may be a bit lower than in the major cities, this is quickly offset by the lower cost of living, so in the end, you may enjoy a better lifestyle and still enjoy the same level of savings.

The move to Australia’s regions is one that comes with many benefits. From cheaper accommodation, less congested public facilities, good amenities, lower crime, less pollution, less crowds and stress everywhere in general.
Contrary to the notion of regional areas being isolated, even capital cities such as Darwin, Hobart, Adelaide, Canberra, and Perth are now regarded as being regional. Even living in smaller cities like Newcastle or in fact, living in a city like Mandurah, you would have been considered as living in a regional area and where you will still meet a well established and welcoming communities of migrants.

Regional Australia is great for bringing up kids. Public schools, secondary and primary, are generally smaller, well funded and don’t lack the facilities or curriculum enjoyed by schools in big cities.

Fears over unemployment and the lack of knowledge and information are factors that turn migrants away from regional Australia.

I encourage you to visit and see for yourself what life in Australia is really like and perhaps, then you may understand the opportunities regional Australia can provide — opportunities that would make a positive impact to your health, lifestyle and allow you and your family to truly embrace the migrant life Down Under.

Australia Immigration: How Will You Stand Out?

Australia Immigration: How Will You Stand Out?

NTRUST has been assisting thousands of families since 2003 migrating to Australia from Singapore or elsewhere, thus, we have seen drastic changes with the immigration rules and regulations. Truth be told, many families now are feeling hesitant to pursue their Australian dream life because of the uncertainties surrounding the immigration policies. Is the golden age of Australia migration really gone?

We Provide Application Options

Just because you are not eligible today does not mean you cannot be eligible moving forward. Same as just because you are not eligible for a particular visa does not mean you cannot fit in any other visa subclass. With our 16 years of existence in this industry, we are the experts in the ins and outs of the immigration policies. We do not just provide assistance; we provide solutions for all our clients. You just have to leave all your uncertainties behind and let an experienced agency handle your application to a much brighter future down under.

We Make Your Application Noticeable

In accordance with the new points system, particularly the skilled migration programme, we maximize all the possible points you can claim to put your application forward, as Expression of Interests (EOI) are now being ranked. Lucky are those single applicants as they are now going to be prioritized based on the new points system; equal to those applicants with a skilled spouse.

Below will be the order of priority:
• First – primary applicants with a skilled spouse or de facto partner
• Equal First – primary applicants without a spouse or de facto partner
• Second – Primary applicants with a spouse or de facto partner who can demonstrate competent English but does not have the skills for skilled partner points (age and skills)
• Third – Primary applicants with a partner who is ineligible for either competent English or Skilled partner points. These applicants will be ranked below all other cohorts, if all other points claims are equal.

Say you are at 75 points and you have a spouse, but not skilled nor English is not on the Competent Level, you will be on the least priority for those applicants with 75 points, not to mention that there are applicants scoring more than 75 points in the queue. With NTRUST, we will push to the limit, when we have maximized already all the possible points we can claim.

Move to Regional Areas Instead

Many people think that moving to regional areas won’t give them any benefits at all. Little do they know there are many benefits now for the new Provisional Regional Visa Subclass 491. Let’s just say the Department of Home Affairs will prioritize applicants under this stream; they have allocated 25,000 intakes for this programme. Furthermore, the definition of Regional Areas has now been widened, where Perth and Gold Coast and some parts of New South Wales (NSW) were included in the list of regional areas.

Also, as per the rules and regulations published, you can stay in regional areas within the 5 years validity of the visa, ensuring that you are able to meet the minimum requirement of 3 years to stay in any regional area to roll over your visa to a permanent visa. What made it even more attractive is that Visa Subclass 491 holders are now entitled to a Medicare; a benefit that’s not available for the previous Regional Visa Subclass 489.

All these and more when you book a consultation with NTRUST. Call +65 6299 0245 to be able to get an assistance with the appointment booking. Alternatively, fill out our online assessment form and get an initial assessment of your eligibility.
